Postnatal Program

Investing in your postnatal recovery is not only hugely beneficial for your physical wellbeing, but also for your mental and emotional health.

POstnatal Personal TRaining will cover:

Posture and alignment

Pregnancy and childbirth often lead to changes in our posture and alignment. At the beginning of your training we will carry out a thorough assessment to identify any imbalances or misalignments in your body, then use targeted exercise to help you restore good posture and alignment, reducing discomfort and promoting optimal movement patterns.

360° Diaphragmatic breathing

Proper breathing techniques are crucial for postnatal recovery. You will be guided through diaphragmatic breathing exercises, which help to activate the deep core muscles, improve oxygenation, and promote relaxation. This technique is essential for rebuilding core strength and supports your overall well-being.

Diastasis healing

Diastasis recti, the separation of abdominal muscles during pregnancy, occurs in almost all pregnant women at full term. If your diastasis is still causing you concern, we will work through targeted exercises and techniques to help heal and strengthen the abdominal muscles, reducing the separation and restoring core stability.

Pelvic floor rehabilitation

Pregnancy and childbirth cause changes to the pelvic floor muscles, sometimes leading to issues such as urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. Allowing yourself time to rehabilitate and strengthen your pelvic floor is essential for promoting optimal function and reducing symptoms.

Functional strength training

We train for real-life movements and activities. Our sessions will focus on functional strength training, which involves exercises that mimic everyday tasks, such as lifting, carrying, and bending. Improving your functional strength can bring huge benefits to your day to day life.

Massage and Myofascial release

As part of your postnatal training, you will receive regular massage and myofascial release work. Massage therapy helps reduce muscle tension, promotes relaxation, and aids in recovery. Myofascial release targets the connective tissue surrounding your muscles, releasing tension and improving mobility.
